Community Colleges and Trade Schools (often the same exact place) are everywhere in the United States including the most rural of areas and offer up a fast way (between a couple months to two years) to learn some extremely valuable skills. Whether it is various trades which generally take less than a year to get a certificate for or Associate Degrees which are useful in their own right. On top of that, unlike regular colleges, they’re free (funded by Federal/Private Grants) and in some cases any excess money from grants are given directly to you as payment which can be a couple to even several thousand dollars or even more.

So you have the Federal Government and sometimes private institutions literally paying you to become skilled and educated in a fast track method. Along with the fact these classes are scheduled around your schedule most of the time. So if you’re employed, then you can easily just have it where you go on your off hours for this stuff.

Tradesmen being in extreme short supply in the US, the pay is generally on par or even more on average than even a doctor in this country. As many tradesmen are over the age of 45 as median and many are retiring more and more as time goes on to cash in on their union pensions. It leads to a situation which defacto makes you unfireable in many cases while making good income and benefits. While holding skills that can also be useful for the movement such as nepotism through hiring other movement individuals, using your trade skills for movement properties, etc.

While trades are very useful, many of the Associate Degrees are extremely useful for yourself and the movement as well. While we can all point at STEM being the gold standard here due to societal conventional wisdom. There are also other roles in such Associate Degrees that badly need filling within the movement such as Graphic Designers, Paralegals, and others.

Paralegals are an extremely important role, since while you’re not a practicing lawyer. You’re still a legal researcher that knows how the law works and how to look up cases and laws which is absurdly useful for organizations/networks to have. All within two years. Which can then be used as a stepping stone further into just going into law school for three or more years and then becoming a full on bar carded lawyer after only 5 or more years of total work starting now. Where the movement has an extreme shortage of legal experts and lawyers, this is extremely valuable when in total our movement only has several lawyers out and about who are very overworked and many are getting to retirement age or on death’s door age.

Graphic Designers are also very important as well, considering there is also an extreme shortage of them within the broader movement. Leading to Networks/Organizations to rely on the self-educated or for them to learn through trial and error themselves.

This also comes with elective classes that many states require one must take regardless of whether or not it’s a Trade Certificate or Associates Degree. While yes, some of these classes are just awful such as Sociology. Many are quite useful for the movement such as Public Speaking, How to manage political organizing, etc. Yes, these classes and the schools themselves as a student body in general will be made up of leftists but who cares? Just hold your tongue and learn these skills and bring them back to our movement. You’re not organizing the Community College and you’ll never meet these people ever again, so who cares what they think?

All of this to say, Networks/Organizations must push their members into Community Colleges/Trade Schools (often the same place). Where there is a quota of sorts and an 80/20 rule where at least 80% of those within must either be currently trying to get or have already achieved a Certificate or a Degree of some kind. Again, the Federal Government and/or Private Institutions will pay for it and sometimes even pay the individual extra to do this. So there is no reason not to, in fact I’d argue that it is imperative for someone to do these things for their Network/Organization as just standard policy for those within it.

As stated above, your Network/Organization will only suffer by not having this as policy in the long term in all forms.

Sad but for once number is probably true.

Trade schools can be very cheap free if you know how to game the system which I did not, and yet everyone else went into debt for it and I was recommending that but it seems people either have the inclination or not.
An organization undoubtledly needs some people with legal knowledge. Not sure what kind would choose that path in current year.
...but a quota for paperholders? unfireable? benefits? I think I said what I needed to last time

>>207753 #
there's a limit to how far you should probably take it and it certainly doesn't apply to much of a 'movement' but for dropping out the wider the range of basic skills the better

the trade school thing strikes me a little scammy sometimes, but the real benefit is, in having said skill, doing it right etc. you save yourself money in endeavors.
basic it skills and digital literacy for instance allow you to save on costs at a business level and avoid liabilities.
knowing how to do woodworking and construction, lets you recycle materials and build your own additions.
mechanical knowledge on engines gives you an understanding for vehicles that again transfers in to reduced costs in operations.

All of the above knowledge lowers the cost of entry and maintenance at least in life.

It works in the Parallel Polis concept, and I reiterate it lowers the cost of living for said individual or group to have that expertise so long as its grounded.
Competency in those skills guarantees a degree of security, will it let you into the economies of them? Probably not, that's gatekept by the universities/schools/unions. But it does not inhibit you from self-sufficiency.

Self sufficiency can be argued either way, but being able to save hundreds or thousands of dollars here and there from not needing to just hand it over to a tradesmen is pretty nice, assuming you're not already making big bucks. Half of all of it is pretty much just markups and padding.

steam is convenient, especially for linux. the problem with pirating games on linux is that it's easy to nuke your saves by deleting the wine prefix and it's easy to mess up a prefix, so you end up with a confusing mess of a lot of stale prefixes if you want to keep your game progress. or you write your own script to manage games and saves, which I did for a while after getting sick of lutris.

I think I realized why the el-ites feel 2030 is their deadline. Why they are in such a rush to build their data centers. You can't fund this level of data center build out without stealing through inflation and money printing.

>>207906 #

I had tv on recently and they unironically and without exaggeration (normally they would) added -maxxing to a word, it was novel to me. I don't even remember the word. Not sure if it was something they were told to include and the guys delivery was the issue, or if someone actually made something up for the broadcast. Hard to imagine. Unless reading ai maybe.
>>207912 #
Anonymous
>>207906 #
Essentially, yes. Although, on reflection, screen-minimalism would probably be a better description. Reading books. Writing with pen & paper. Playing instruments again. And largely treating the internet/digital world as a place to visit, instead of a world to inhabit, if that makes sense.
>>207909 #
Anonymous
>>207908 #
I've done it before, beyond 90s. No screens, no computer, no phone, no music (I think some classical), no fiction, no slop. Not sure how long. It's good for resetting yourself, and getting in quality white man thinking time. I've gone without internet for a long time before, and tv, and reading, all separately iirc. I don't know if those have any real benefit if you are just substituting one for other.

Someone stupid was promoting cutting out screens, but then inserted all these caveats about work and family and so much time per day... rationing might help some people but that's a different issue I think.
>>207910 #
Anonymous
>>207909 #
I think you hit the nail on the head with "getting some quality thinking done". I'm feeling the scatterbrain heavily these days. And yes, the challenge is that it is essentially impossible to completely disconnect, but rationing, or setting up certain analog activities may help.

>In 1906—a full three years after the Wright brothers first flew—Newcomb wrote an essay insisting that even if a machine could briefly lift a man, it could never carry significant weight, hold passengers, or be used for commercial or military purposes.
Really makes you dink
>>208239 #
Anonymous
>The scientific and journalistic establishment found the idea of flight so fundamentally "debunked" that they assumed any reports of success were elaborate hoaxes.
>The New York Times: Just over two months before the Wright brothers flew, the New York Times famously published an editorial predicting it would take humanity one to ten million years to develop a functional flying machine. When the Wrights actually succeeded, the newspaper essentially ignored the story for years.
>Scientific American: The country's premier scientific journal flatly refused to print a story on the flight. Despite receiving eyewitness testimony, an executive at Scientific American dismissed the brothers as local con artists and bicycle mechanics who were exaggerating their achievements.
>The U.S. Army: When the Wright brothers wrote to the U.S. Board of Ordnance and Fortification offering to sell their aircraft technology, the military turned them down without even looking at the machine. The Board stated they would not fund "imaginary" inventions until they saw a device operate in a practical manner.

>Because mainstream scientific institutions refused to look at the evidence, the very first detailed, published eyewitness account of the Wright brothers' flights did not appear in a scientific journal. Instead, it was published in January 1905 in a niche periodical titled Gleanings in Bee Culture. The magazine's editor, A.I. Root, had personally traveled to Dayton, Ohio, witnessed the plane circle a field, and used his beekeeping publication to tell the world what the scientific elite refused to believe

if there was a guy with a shield in front of it, i think it's for something when you return later on in the game----- yeah, you getthe key in a spot later near firelink as you are heading to the spot for returning to the asylum
theres not a ton of locked doors in the game that you have to return for later, maybe 1 per area, and many areas have 1 shortcut you unlock from other side eventually.

I'm getting really tired of these spooky scripted pursuers. Mr X doesn't need the lights off, teleportation or some girl VA acting like she's going to pee herself to spook you. The RPD is brightly lit and has lots of routes to avoid him, he works because he's just a pursuer and not a failed amnesia concept.

>>209318 #
Did you hit the master switch yet?
>There's a log by Shodan somewhere on level 6 that tells you exactly what you have to do to jettison Beta Grove. First you have to go inside all three groves and hit the jettison enable button in them. Then you have to flip the master jettison control switch which is somewhere on level 6, I don't know the location by heart but it's past a padlocked door and through a maintenance crawlway. That switch will fail the first time, to fix it you have to visit level 3 and repair the broken relay. After you've done that, flip the master jettison switch again and then you can flip the switch outside Beta Grove and jettison it that way. In other words, long ways to go yet.

>I am stumped as to where to find the master switch.
Oh you didn't find it yet. At the end of the level near diego's second office. You have to go past a saloon type room with gambling and pool tables to get into the back of the executive area. To get to the last part of the level you'll go through some vents and a boss room with diego.

>SAN ANGELO, TX — Gun Owners of America (GOA) and fellow plaintiffs scored a major win today. The U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas ruled that key National Firearms Act of 1934 (NFA) restrictions are unconstitutional for untaxed firearms and permanently blocked the ATF from enforcing them against the plaintiffs, their members, and their customers.
>The lawsuit was brought by GOA, Gun Owners Foundation, Silencer Shop Foundation, Palmetto State Armory, SilencerCo, B&T USA, the Firearms Regulatory Accountability Coalition, individual plaintiff Brady Wetz, and a coalition of 15 pro-gun states: Alaska, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Kansas, Louisiana, Montana, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Carolina, South Dakota, Texas, Utah, West Virginia, and Wyoming.
>Judge James Wesley Hendrix held that Congress wiped out the constitutional basis for federal gun registration when it zeroed the transfer and making taxes on NFA items in the One Big Beautiful Bill Act of 2025. The court rejected the government’s attempt to save the regulations under the Commerce Clause.
>“The challenged NFA provisions are unconstitutional. Congress’s choice to eliminate the transfer and making taxes matters, and the defendants cannot save the NFA’s regulatory scheme by referring to a power that Congress never invoked. Efforts to render the NFA constitutional must come from Congress, not this Court.” — Judge James Wesley Hendrix

Its interesting and I admittedly wouldn't have expected it. Firearms Freedom Acts have been on the books in a few states for quite a while now but never won against Fed/ATF judgements but the DoJ will likely try to stop it

https://collider.com/resident-evil-village-vampire-lady-art/
>This idea was first explored with a castle inhabited by hundreds of women, but as development progressed, the game set on a smaller family core, even if all the other enemies players will find of this level will also be female. As Takano explains, “with Lady Dimitrescu as the cult’s guru, we have created this hierarchy of women. Men have their blood drained by these women, so you could say it’s the opposite of Dracula.”
>The concept of Lady Dimitrescu also changed over time, while the team tried to get to a result that was both intimidating and memorable. As Sato recalls, “we [the team] tried a lot of different things in order to make the Countess scary and feel like a boss character. There were ideas to make her more creature-like as well, but in the end, we felt that a towering woman was the most simple yet powerful thing we could do.”
The japs really thought a giant woman vampire cult leader in a castle full of women that drains men's "blood" would scare people.

True, whats even more absurd, and this falls into pedantic legal jewry is that for ages this whole thing has been an issue of de facto administrative law, not even constitutional because the ATF has been out of control almost since its existence, even compared to other Fed agencies.
Hate to be the wait and see type, but the only way to know if this becomes real or not is if in 2 weeks™ from now, people are actually buying cans/SBRs in those states without addl paperwork en masse. If not and they hold it up with appeals/injunctions etc then it will be just another "well we won on paper but its not actually happening IRL" cases as with the previous FFA type cases.

Didn't you see the screenshots? It looks okay I guess, NPCs and enemies are definitely better than in previous games. It's hard to tell with the rest of it because RE engine games are inherently low contrast and the forced film grain in the demo version makes it hard to notice small details. You can literally see the artificial grain jittering at 4K, it's like a bad reshade preset. I don't think RE9's graphics will be winning any awards anyway, RE engine games all have flat lighting and a plastic look to the textures. They're like upgraded PS3 games where the extra power goes into SSR, SSAO, subsurface scattering, contact shadows etc.
>>209569 #
>but it's a video game
I don't generally care about graphics so long as the image is clear, but the most photorealistic looking game I've ever played is Death Stranding 2. I'm only appreciating how well Kojima does lighting and faces now that I'm looking at the competition.

>even mid game studios can get results like that just by doing the tracing
All raytracing delivers by default is more technically accurate lighting. This is good for reflections and okay for shadows, but is really bad when you have intentionally unrealistic lighting. When you're playing RE2, check out the RPD lobby and the plant lab lobby in RT vs non RT mode.

I know the images are fat but look at both of them. RT on is technically more accurate but hides the intentionally lit details like the blood stain and makes the image feel less focused because of the lighter shadows. RE engine isn't the best example though because RT in it is just a performance intensive bandaid for poorly implemented screen space effects.
>>209590 #
>Doesn't ray tracing look better in gameplay though?
In RE gameplay you literally can't notice the difference. In DS2 it wouldn't make a big difference because 90% of the game is wide open spaces or confined delivery hubs. Maybe in the magellan it would work.

I played the FF pixel remasters last year and I liked them. Graphicsfagging is dumb, modern devs are using more hardware and more complex shaders to make games that look worse aesthetically (sometimes literally like MH Wilds) than PS3 games.

I played ground zeroes a while ago, imo the NPCs still do. The problem is that the open world in the full game is really empty due to PS3 VRAM limits.

One thing I'll say before I nap (real) is that if you're going to graphicsfag, don't trust other people's screenshots unless you know that they are representative. For example most of the screenshots of RE2 remake you'll see online look like shit because they're lossy crops of the game running on poverty machines at 1080p at best. Modern gaymes don't look good below max settings and 1440p because they rely so much on temporal effects.

i don't know what is wrong with my computers today.
USB stick which I have previously used and worked fine shows this speed.
/: Bus 004.Port 001: Dev 001, Class=root_hub, Driver=xhci_hcd/2p, 10000M
|__ Port 002: Dev 003, If 0, Class=Mass Storage, Driver=usb-storage, 5000M
while in reality with dd it writes 4.7 MB/s.
Seems like my USB ports have somehow been downgraded to USB 1.1 full speed.
The other puter stopped working 2 hours after I fixed the SSD. Probably cause I haven't upgraded firmware (due to it fucks up my gaming) for a while.

They don't shoot at you when you cut across, but there's not much reason to go there when you're done.
When I needed souls I just went wherever there were enemies I enjoyed fighting, or where I needed practice with different weapons or combinations of equipment. getting materials can be more boring.
I was just about through an area the other day and got tired of it and haven't been playing lately or without real work to do..

Sometimes I think I just don't like most Western games. I played Quake and Quake II and didn't find them very memorable, while Mario 64 is one of my favorite games. Funny thing is I did not grow up playing Jap games at all, besides a couple of the starting sections in M64, small parts of Mario Sunshine, and a few arcade games.

As much as I like people actually paying attention to the sorry state of vidya graphics they're still stupid as shit and cuckchan was actually defending that smeary shit because DF told them to before another influencer came along to feed them their new opinion. That place is full of tourists who come to ragebait or get their opinions validated and will go full cult mode over an eceleb. A few schizos doing that doesn't say anything about the general view there.
>Extremely telling that these posts are from this year
I've seen posts like that on both sides of the raytracing argument since like 2020. If you look up the thread in the archive you'll see it's a template RTX bait thread, it just happened to trigger an interesting discussion.
>DF
>TI
Both are grifters that use real problems to make money off them by hyping partial solutions. TI's scam of "pay me 900k to hire someone to fix UE5" might be more obvious, but DF is worse for the industry. They know all the problems with the new tech they're hyping and save the B roll for when it's profitable to criticize it. It's been really obvious with DLSS version changes.
