Right, so not happy with this, but it's something. Could have exported the full sequence and used a no-credits version as a base so it's less visually jarring but I wanted to capture the 14 frame loop for Papika. AV1 does notoriously struggle with dark sequences, you can see the dithering around Papika's hair that the encoder kept trying to turn into a macro block on much higher CRFs. In the video file itself it's just flat color so I dunno why it freaks out specifically around that area. Using SVT-AV1-HDR set to the MS-SSIM/SSIMULCRA 2 preset.
