I agree that this is happening and I know it's an issue for some people. My point of view on this is that a board that is just /pol/ and /k/ is going to retain less users over time because they can't sustain conversation as well. In a small group, everyone who cares is eventually learn what they need to know about kikes, pranks and guns. I've said multiple times that I don't believe that mono-topic boards survive in the current imageboard culture with it's low population and small intake of new users. People get bored, leave, no one replaces them, board dies. I don't think that purely media boards work either (because the average output of anime, tv, etc is so shit). I really believe that the best model for an imageboard community is a cafe style place with a common culture and expected set of political beliefs, but where people can talk about whatever interests them and ideally find people with similar interests or introduce them to it. I don't think that most discussion shifting to media is inherently deradicalizing, but I'm not one of those 8moe idiots who thinks THE JEWS FEAR THE SAMURAI and that loli pussy keeps the shills away, nor do I want this place to be like sh/a/mi and full of porn, pyus and really vacuous posts. I would like anons who want to talk about media, share nice things. Maybe I've been too indulgent of the yuri anon posting his stuff in the main thread.

With regards to addressing the anime problem, I'm not sure what to do. Moderating it just for being anime is obviously counter productive and would unnecessarily drive people off. I've suggested to bring back the meguca book club multiple times, but I'm guessing that it wouldn't make much difference since no one seemed interested. All I can think of is encouraging /k/ anons to post more and bully the newfags into dryfire drills or something.
